Dispatch software doesn’t make you money. Booking the right loads does. We ran a team of dispatchers at American Truckers LLC, and every day looked the same: load details from the rate con, check calls, documents, invoices, and the settlement math at the end of the week. A TMS (transportation management system) keeps all of that in one place. It doesn’t tell you whether a load was worth taking.
Most TMS comparisons are written by software companies or rank platforms built for big fleets. This one is for 1 to 10 trucks: what a small operation needs, what it can skip, and what each tool publishes about price.
QUICK ANSWER
For 1–2 trucks, TruckingOffice ($25/month) and Truxello ($29 for the first truck) have the lowest published prices. TruckLogics ($35.96/month billed yearly) pulls IFTA miles and fuel from Motive and Samsara. ITS Dispatch ($50/month) is Truckstop’s TMS, if you already work Truckstop. AscendTMS ($69 per user a month) is the one tool here whose own site says it’s integrated with Triumph factoring. Whatever you pick, track profit per truck separately.

The tools, one by one
1. TruckingOffice
Price: The Basic plan is $25/month for 1–2 trucks, $55 for 3–7, and $90 for 8 or more. Pro is $35, $75, and $130. PC*MILER premium routing is an add-on from $5/month. There are no per-user fees.
What it does: Dispatch records, invoices with overdue alerts, driver pay reports, expenses, maintenance, document storage (FileSafe), and IFTA miles and fuel by state, with miles calculated by PC*MILER. Pro adds load planning, LTL, factoring and remit-to tracking, and driver settlements.
Watch out for: Driver settlements and factoring fields are in Pro, not Basic. Pick the plan for the features you’ll actually use.
Best for: One or two trucks that want the lowest published monthly price. Sources: pricing, features.
2. Truxello
Price: Per truck, per month: $29 for the first truck, $15 each for trucks 2–10, and $12 each from truck 11. Each truck covers 2 drivers. Paying annually gets 2 months free.
What it does: AI rate-con parsing that fills in the load, a dispatch board, live GPS, invoices sent from your own Gmail or Outlook, driver settlements, two-way QuickBooks Online sync, a fuel log with EFS, WEX, and Comdata imports, ELD connections (Samsara, Motive, Geotab), and a quarterly IFTA report. It also has Truckstop load search built in, and you can mark which loads went to your factor and track the fee.
Watch out for: The Truckstop search inside Truxello still needs your own Truckstop account. Confirm the ELD you run is on its list.
Best for: A carrier adding its first driver who wants settlements without moving up a plan. Source: truxello.com.
3. TruckLogics
Price: Owner Operator (1–2 trucks) is $35.96/month billed yearly or $39.95 monthly. Small Fleet (3–7 trucks) is $71.96 or $79.95. Mid-Size (8–14) and Large Fleet (15–24) plans are listed too.
What it does: Dispatch, invoicing, QuickBooks integration, driver settlements, expenses, EFS fuel imports, and IFTA reports for the current and prior quarters, with distance and fuel imported from dispatches or from Motive and Samsara. It can also send dispatches to Motive.
Watch out for: The trial is 7 days, the shortest here. Set up a real quarter’s IFTA in that week if that’s why you’re buying.
Best for: Carriers on Motive or Samsara who want IFTA to pull from the ELD. Source: TruckLogics pricing.
4. ITS Dispatch (Truckstop)
Price: The Owner-Operator plan (1–2 trucks) is $50/month. For 3 or more trucks, Truckstop lists Carrier at $75/month and TMS Carrier Pro at $99/month, both with unlimited trucks and users. Automated IFTA reporting is $5 per truck and is listed on Owner-Operator and Carrier Pro, not on Carrier. Carrier Pro adds digital document storage, preventive maintenance, driver messaging, and sales tools. Prices exclude fees and taxes.
What it does: One-click invoices, driver settlements, BOLs, load confirmations, customer agreements, QuickBooks integration, and reports, on every plan.
Watch out for: If you have 3+ trucks and want automated IFTA, that’s Carrier Pro at $99, not Carrier at $75. Ask on the demo.
Best for: Carriers who already work the Truckstop load board. Source: Truckstop TMS for carriers.

5. AscendTMS
Price: Basic is $69 per user a month, Premium $119, and Pro $149. AscendTMS says it never charges for drivers, trucks, or loads, and that setup, support, and training are free. Its pricing page shows no free plan.
What it does: Load management, invoicing, driver payroll and settlements, IFTA reports, text-message driver tracking, and free broker credit checks. Its pricing page says it is integrated with Triumph Business Capital for load funding, and it lists posting to load boards including Truckstop and 123Loadboard.
Watch out for: Pricing is per user, so a second office user doubles the bill. Searching Truckstop from inside AscendTMS needs your own paid Truckstop subscription. Confirm which plan includes the features you want.
Best for: A one-person office that factors with Triumph and wants the factoring hand-off inside the TMS. Source: AscendTMS pricing.
Already on Motive or Samsara?
If your ELD is Motive or Samsara, ask what dispatch and routing tools are in your quote before you add a separate TMS. Samsara lists a Routing & Dispatch product. Neither publishes a price, so compare the quote against the tools above. Our best ELD comparison has their published terms.
Bigger-fleet platforms
Some TMS platforms are built for 10+ trucks, with a sales process to match. We didn’t compare them here. If you’re at that size, get written quotes and ask for a trial on your own loads.
The one thing no TMS tells you: which truck is making money
A TMS tracks loads. It doesn’t tell you your cost per mile, your break-even rate, or which truck actually made money last month after the truck payment, insurance, and fuel. When we dispatched, that number decided which loads we’d even call on.
Rate cons and broker vetting are on you
Software can read a rate con. It can’t tell you the broker is solid or that the rate con matches what you agreed on the phone. Before we booked, we checked the broker’s authority, ran a credit check through the factor, and read every line of the rate con for detention, layover, and payment terms. Our freight broker red flags and how to evaluate a load before booking guides walk through it.
What a year costs at published prices
💰 12 MONTHS, 1 TRUCK, MONTHLY BILLING
Yearly billing lowers some of these: TruckLogics is $35.96/month billed yearly ($431.52), and Truxello’s annual plan gives 2 months free. A second truck adds $15/month on Truxello and nothing on TruckingOffice, TruckLogics, or ITS Dispatch until you pass 2 trucks. These are subscription prices only, before taxes, fees, and add-ons.
What dispatch software must do
- Load entry from the rate con, with broker, stops, dates, rate, and reference numbers.
- Document storage for rate cons, BOLs, and PODs on the load they belong to.
- Invoicing that sends the invoice with the rate con and POD, plus a way to mark loads you factored.
- IFTA miles by state, and fuel gallons, ready for the quarterly return.
- Driver settlements once you hire, with deductions you can check line by line.
- A driver app for documents and status from the road.
- A load board connection, or at least an easy way to enter loads you booked on the board.
Our recommendation by situation
Solo, one truck: Start with the cheapest published plan that does IFTA: TruckingOffice Basic ($25) or Truxello ($29). Use the trial on a real week of loads.
Solo and factoring: If you factor with Triumph, AscendTMS is the tool here whose own site says it’s integrated with Triumph. With any other TMS, you send the invoice packet to your factor yourself. Triumph’s referral page lists same-day funding, no minimums, no reserves, free broker credit checks, and fuel advances up to 50%.
Triumph Freight Factoring
Same-day funding, no minimums, no reserves, and free broker credit checks, per Triumph’s referral page. Factoring covers the gap while you wait on broker payments.
First driver hired: You need settlements. Truxello includes them on every plan, TruckLogics and ITS Dispatch list them, and TruckingOffice puts them in Pro.
3–10 trucks: Price it out per truck. TruckingOffice Basic is $55 for 3–7 trucks, TruckLogics Small Fleet is $71.96 billed yearly, and ITS Dispatch is $75 (Carrier) or $99 (Carrier Pro, with automated IFTA) for unlimited trucks. Truxello is $29 plus $15 for each extra truck.
“I’m an independent dispatcher, not a carrier”: Your tools are different. A dispatcher books under each carrier’s authority, as our how to start a dispatch business guide explains. For your own load search, we point new dispatchers to 123Loadboard: code 82330 gets your first 30 days free.

Frequently Asked Questions
Of the tools we compared, TruckingOffice Basic has the lowest published price at $25/month for 1-2 trucks, followed by Truxello at $29/month for the first truck. Prices were checked on each vendor’s site on October 19, 2026.
None of the five tools we compared lists a free plan. Each offers a free trial: 30 days for TruckingOffice and AscendTMS, 14 days for Truxello, and 7 days for TruckLogics. ITS Dispatch starts with a demo.
AscendTMS’s pricing page says it is integrated with Triumph Business Capital for load funding. Of the tools we compared, it’s the only one whose own site claims that. With the others you send the invoice packet to your factor yourself. Truxello and TruckingOffice Pro let you track which loads you factored.
Truckstop lists Carrier at $75/month and TMS Carrier Pro at $99/month, both for unlimited trucks. Automated IFTA ($5 per truck) is listed on Carrier Pro, not Carrier. Prices exclude fees and taxes.
Not always. One truck with no hired driver can run on a spreadsheet, a load board and a folder of rate cons and PODs. A TMS earns its keep once you hire a driver, add a truck or start missing invoices.
Not on its own. A TMS tracks loads and invoices. You still need your cost per mile and break-even rate per truck to know whether a load is worth booking.
